I *adore* the Dark is Rising which is why I flat out refused to watch that fucking train wreck of a movie. I've got friends who braved it and they came back foaming at the mouth.

I refused to see it in theaters, and I would've kept on refusing to see it, but I figured I couldn't properly badmouth it until I'd actually watched it? And sometimes they make good movies out of books even if the movies don't follow the books much of at all. This. Was not one of those times.

If they make a series out of this and replace Bran with Tom in the later movies, I am going to be so, so pissed. They better not mess with the Drews. The Drews are full of win.
