So... apparently Facebook is having a meltdown over how unaffordable the "Affordable Health Care Act" actually is. I was curious as to how much my "affordable" premium would be and went to check it out.
Why does it not surprise me what a clusterf**k the site is, just like the whole stinkin' thing itself?
I am seriously depressed about it. I keep hearing that the cheapest deductible will be $3000... that's 3 times what I'm paying now! Unless by some sheer miracle I'm able to find more work, there is no way in hell I will be able to afford this. I'm sure they'd tell you "Then don't get sick." But even if you don't get sick and have to visit the doctor often, you're still stuck with the monthly premium. And what about those who have chronic health conditions for which they *have* to see a doctor on a more-or-less regular basis?
I swear, the whole end result is to make every single person in this country totally dependent on government. I just don't see anything positive at all. Maybe it's my hormones @ the moment but I am soooo depressed now. :(
Now, see, I'm looking at this as a positive The fact they still trotted out this train wreck during the government shut down could very well come back to bite them in the ass. The more people see how ridiculously expensive this thing is, then more they'll be agreeing that is should be scrapped.
I wish I could believe it. Unfortunately, Obama's pride is involved, and we all know what that means. He'd rather bankrupt the entire country -- or alternatively, tie the whole country to their computer chairs for the rest of their lives as they wait for the site to load -- than scrap his pet project.
All I've been hearing in the past few days is how people either a.) can't get on the website, or b.) are making serious "O_O" faces at the prices. I haven't heard anything positive, especially not on my liberal-infested Facebook feed. Oh, I've heard plenty of "Republicans are evil *redacted*", but not a single peep over someone who has gone through this process and said "Golly gee, this is amazing, this affordable healthcare now being offered to me!"
So, the big question: Who is this actually affordable for? I don't want any responses of "well now so-and-so can get" that's not what I'm asking. Sure, Citizen A now has the opportunity to get health insurance, an option that perhaps wasn't available to them before due to circumstances. But due to those circumstances, I'm going to assume Citizen A can't even afford the affordable insurance now. Who is this actually good for?The two sides I'm seeing promoting Obamacare as a good thing either have really solid health insurance and won't be majorly affected (in essence, the "oh but it's
