Awesome indeed!

And to know that these wonderful men gave our country their youth, their health and many they very lives, only to have corrupt, disgraceful, America-hating men like the man in the White House and all those like him destroy it the way they are now doing is unbearable.

May those good men be a rebuke to their very FACES.

Although ...I can't help but think that the people pissing away the country are the people who vote these crooks into office season after season.

I don't get how they can close off the memorials like this in the first place. I mean, they're just out in the open. Why bother using manpower to block them off- wouldn't they have to pay someone to do that?

Particularly funny: it isn't generally staffed! It costs far MORE to close it than to have it open. The "shutsown" is just more kibuki.

oh hale no! for real?!

I knew some of this "closing" sounded fishy. "kabuki" is a good term for it if that's how it is.

the thing that caught my ear is that if this goes on, people who rely on food programs could suffer

and i thought that's gonna look crummy as well as people will suffer, and prob this won't get resolved soon, eh?

Not only is it not usually staffed, they had to import and erect barriers and fences to implement the "closure". That amounts to, quite literally, tens of thousands of dollars to *close* a park that normally costs nearly nothing to keep open.

I also find it very significant taht the "shut down" government still runs a deficit nearly as large as it does in full operation.

They stormed the beaches of Normandy. A little fence and some barricades weren't going to stop them today. We could learn a lot from the Greatest Generation. It's just too bad the youth of today aren't being taught about them. :(

God Bless these men, one and all for their courage, honor and sacrifices.
