In the last few years the advancement of civil rights has led to the Catholic Church doing things like threatening to close (or perhaps acutally close) orphanages because they refuse to consider placing a child with a same sex couple.

What's amazing about the Catholic church's negative stance on homosexuality is the sheer number of suits being brought against them regarding the behavior of priests/cardinals/etc with young men or underage boys. Perhaps the Church is so against children being placed with same-sex couples because of their own guilty consciences in that regard? We'll probably never know...

I wonder what the new health care bill will do in regards to the Church's statement that they won't cover certain people. Will they be forced to do so now? Could homosexuality be considered a "pre-existing condition" that they must accept whether they like it or not?
