the reason why they have a droopy appearance unlike your average puffy dumpling, is because it has "soup" packed in with other tasty things (like leek, beef, pork, crabmeat, etc.). ultimate taste explotion. it's a popular dish in shanghai. try it!

This reminds me of a funny story. At work I have a coworker that always brings dumplings to eat because she says she can eat them quickly and can finish preparing for classes during her lunch hour (she's a professor at a uni.). Anyway, one day she went into the teacher's lounge to get her dumplings...she took the lid off the bowl and was about to pop them into the microwave when she noticed someone hat drawn a smilie face on the dumpling in the center. She never figured out who did it and more importantly, why? haha.
