God, I did not need that curse. Or the reminder of how I felt about Bones... It's... With Tony, it's...
Tony-- I don't appreciate being manipulated like that Thank you for keeping me out of trouble. Hell, I should have known you could be that cold.
So, I'm myself again. How's everyone else doing? Who's up for drinks later?

[She ducks her head and smiles a little ruefully, because she can kind of understand where Cat is coming from. Still...]
You never know, you might surprise yourself. He's worth it.
[Then because Tosh has a bad feeling about where this whole situation may be headed, but it's not as though she didn't expect it eventually, she takes a deep breath and looks straight at the other woman.]
Have you asked him? If he'd be exclusive, for you? You can't know the answer unless you ask, and maybe you'll get the one you want rather than the one you expect.

[She rubs a hand over her face. That's going to be interesting. She just hopes she can sort herself out before that.]
I can't do that. Even if I could, I wouldn't. [With the territorial instincts of a vampire and the experiences she made, that's not an option. Cat doesn't want it to be, either.
Her head comes up at Tosh's next words, eyes wide. She didn't expect that, either.]
I haven't. [She's not even sure she wants to. One of the many things she's got to figure out.] And I don't think he'd do anything like that, anyway. Even if I decided to ask him.

[Slight pang of jealousy there, which Tosh suppresses quickly. It's not like dancing is an uncommon date-like activity.]
Maybe he wouldn't, Cat, but he also wouldn't lie to you, or begrudge you asking him. Look, he's worked up enough about all of this that it's distracting him even from his work. And he's willing to actually let me talk to you about it, which I don't think was an easy decision for him. Shows a lot of trust in me, I suppose, because for all he knows I could be sitting here right now sabotaging the whole thing. It means a lot to me, that he respects me that way. So trust him enough to at least talk about it. I think Tony deserves that.
[Tosh finishes her wine, and puts her hand on the bar near Cat's, the closest she's willing to get to touching someone she doesn't know very well.]
Just think about it, all right?

[Cat's not thinking of it as a date. She's not. Tony and her, they're just friends for now. And she promised she'd let him teach her.]
Honestly? I don't think I could stop thinking 'bout it now.
[Ironic twist of the mouth. She's not going to stop thinking about Tony, all of this and the way she feels about him anytime soon. It'll take time to figure it all out, to sort through her feelings and decide what to do.]
I... I will.
[Pause.] Thanks. I guess.

I promise this'll be the only time I ever put my nose in your business. Just...I want Tony to be happy.
[And if that means locking Tony and Cat in a room until they talk and work things out...well, maybe Tosh would break her promise just a little bit.]
Thank you for listening. Next time I won't mention a word about him, I swear.
[She offers Cat a sympathetic smile, and slips off the chair.] Good luck with the dancing, I'm sure you'll be brilliant at it.

It's... It's fine. He's lucky, you know. To have someone like you care for him. [There. That took quite a bit of effort to say.]
Thanks. [Both for talking to her and for wishing her luck, Cat means. When Tosh leaves, she turns back to her Gin and Tonic.]
