A woman, holding around her neck the key that will open the lock to herself. Seeking deep within herself for the door that the key will open. Does it open the door behind the multi-colored candles? She breathes slowly into her meditation; only her inner voice can answer her questions. Peacefully opening to the layers of her beautiful spirit.

This is my favorite of your artwork that I've seen so far, Nashay...and that's saying a lot because I love so much of your other work!

I snagged this as a prompt for today's poetry fishbowl; see my blog for summary. I'll link back here.

*sigh of awe*
It is a super-real moment of gathering strength and peace.

I definitely would like a print.

Thanks, Terrie! I sketched out this piece while watching President Obama's inauguration on TV. It was such a powerful moment...

I can make this available on Etsy by Saturday. I just wasn't sure there was any interest.

I see a girl with the key... who is trying to follow her heart's desire (represented by the flames) to find the door it fits into.

Could the colored candles be a reference to "Temple of the Twelve"? Just curious. :)

Partially, as lots of things tend to reference lots of other things in my work.
