Title: Two stories (18/27)
Pairing: Matsumiya, Ohmiya, Sakuraiba
Rating: PG-13
Genre: AU, Angst, Romance, Mystery
Disclaimer: I own nothing but the story.
Summary: Two stories of two individuals, but it was only one.
Unbeta-ed, so sorry for my mistakes. I'm very very thankful if someone helps me point them out ^^~
A/N: Please bear with Matsumiya a little more :D This is my first time writing Matsumiya as a main pairing (beside Ohmiya), and it was fun, though. Somehow these two went along really well.
Hope you like it, please enjoy ^^

Chapter 18: Disappearance
Ninomiya sat tiredly at his seat. The following check-up was tiring. It was longer than the last one, and he had to wait for it to finish. He folded his arms across his chest, feeling the pain tingling behind his ribcages. But he was unable to do anything. All he could do now was waiting for the pain to subside, and praying for his heart not to collapse as he was always told it would be at any time.
The heaviness inside his chest appeared again, whenever he was alone. It wasn’t like he was happier when those guards -who worked for his farther- were all around him. But at least they paid attention to him. Being alone in this room, waiting for the doctor to come was somehow scary. He was afraid of this just as much as he was afraid of the loneliness.
Ninomiya was always lonely though. It was Nino - his clone - who was always beside him since he was born. He still remembered the first day his father introduced Nino to him. It was a rainy day with cold wind, and Ninomiya had always wanted to go outside even when everyone told him he would catch a cold and it definitely wasn’t good for his health. He had sulked for a whole day, until his father told him to meet someone. That boy was waiting for him in his father’s working room, and when Ninomiya met him, he got startled. This boy looked exactly like him; they even had the same mole at the same place on his face. Since that day, they lived together, grew up together. Ninomiya had no other friend beside Nino; Ninomiya had no other connection with the whole world beside Nino. With Ninomiya, Nino wasn’t just a clone that he needed to have for his disease, but more than that, Nino was something that he couldn’t lose. He just felt it. He needed to feel Nino beneath him, wriggling and whimpering and breathing, just as much as he needed air to breath. Just at those moments he felt alive, like someone was there for him, someone was paying attention to him, someone who loved him.
The word love escaped his mouth scornfully.
He had always lived in an illusion in which he was loved and being in love, hadn’t he?
He had never felt so hollow when one day he realized Nino had left, didn’t even tell him the reason. Nino was scared of you, that was what the others said, but he didn’t know why. He knew he had hurt Nino sometimes, but Nino seemed enjoying the pain just as much as he enjoying creating them. So he didn’t notice the fear Nino had for him whenever he approached the man, he didn’t notice the crying, sobbing Nino was making, because he just simply thought there was no reason for Nino to be crying. Because Nino had to need him just as much he needed the man.
But he was wrong, because Nino couldn’t bear it anymore. Nino ran away.
And left him alone in his world.
His mind wandered around until he noticed the doctor had come. He laid down obediently for him to check his heart. He closed his eyes, tried to ignore the cold feeling when the metal equipment touched his skin. He started to think again.
It was hurt - though he didn’t want to admit it, but something twisted his heart - when he realized everyone hating him because of hurting Nino.
Even him, Ninomiya grinded his teeth in frustration. His heart picked up its rate and he squirmed slightly.
And here I thought he could understand me, Ninomiya thought bitterly. He was just the same with the others. Nothing more. He also liked Nino and also hated me because of whatever I had done until then. He wasn’t any different from the people around him. Though Ninomiya had hoped, just a tiny bit, that Jun could understand him, because Jun looked honest when he was talking with him. Jun looked even understanding. Jun almost fooled him with his kind smile, gave him the hope that he finally had somewhere to come when he wanted to talk to someone, when he felt lonely.
Like that morning, when he found the urge to talk to someone, he had come there right when he knew the shop would be opened. And Nino was there, too. Nino was avoiding him, too. He hated it. He hated it when no one understood him but acting like they did. They didn’t know a damn thing.
And Jun.
He didn’t want to think about that. He had tried, first was Nino, then that sleepy man called Ohno, and then… No, he had never tried to love Jun. But what? Jun was just the same at those who left his life mercilessly, or even crossing him without acknowledging his presence. It wasn’t like he wanted Jun to acknowledge him, he just needed someone that could share the hurt with him. Someone that could lessen his hurt.
He had hoped Jun could be that someone.
But, no. It was impossible. Because Jun also hurt him, and for his annoyance, the hurt Jun gave him was way more than the others had given him.
If Jun had never been so kind to him, if he had never caught him when he collapsed because of his heart, if he had never asked him out for meal, if he had never listened to him that whole-heartedly…
…may be it wouldn’t have hurt this much.
-------------------------------------------
Jun stared blankly at the cup in front of him. Hot steam from the coffee warmed his face, but somewhere in his chest, it was cold. It had been a week after that incident, but he couldn’t forget. The sight of a lonely Ninomiya haunted him even in his sleep, and he felt guilty building up inside him day after day. He had wanted to tell Ninomiya, at that moment, that no, I don’t hate you, but his mouth couldn’t form any word. At the end, he couldn’t say it at all. Ninomiya had left, bearing in his mind the thought that Jun hated him just as much as the others did. Though Jun wasn’t so sure if Ninomiya even gave it any thought - or it just didn’t matter to Ninomiya that Jun hated or liked him. But he still felt the need to correct it. Because he didn’t hate Ninomiya. No, because he thought he could understand why Ninomiya had been acting that way. Why Ninomiya was hurting Nino, why Ninomiya had done those things for the man…
Because Ninomiya was always searching desperately for love.
Jun couldn’t stand it anymore. The need to meet Ninomiya was growing stronger and stronger. And Jun knew if he didn’t search for him, Ninomiya wouldn’t show up at his place anymore. He stood up and came to Nino - who was washing the dishes carefully - and searched for the right words.
“Err… Nino?” Jun hesitated.
“Yes?” Nino raised his head.
“Do you, well… do you remember everything already?” Jun asked cautiously. He would stop if Nino looked uncomfortable. After all, the mental wound in Nino’s heart hadn’t been healed.
“I think so… Though I’m not so sure.” Nino frowned slightly, but he didn’t look annoyed. So Jun continued.
“So… do you remember where you live before?”
Nino’s frown deepened, as if he wanted to know why Jun even asked about this. But he answered anyway.
“Yes, I guess.”
“Can you… well, you know, tell me the address?” Jun took a deep breath and finished his question. Nino stared at him for a moment, but he didn’t ask further. He just nodded quietly.
“Yes, if you want to.”
----------------------------------------
Now Jun was standing in front of a big mansion, which was supposed to be Ninomiya’s house, feeling somehow stupid. He stared at it, dumbfounded, didn’t really take in the fact that Ninomiya was a son of a really wealthy family. He just didn’t look like that, except times when he went out with his two guards and his luxurious car.
Hesitantly, Jun pushed the doorbell. A ting came out as he heard the answer from the machine nearly immediately.
“Hello?”
“Ano…” Jun stammered “I’m… Ninomiya’s friend. Can I... Well, can I meet him for a second?”
“Young master isn’t here,” The voice answer “He’s been hospitalized since yesterday.”
“What?” Jun’s heart dropped helplessly. Please be alright, he wished hopelessly, worry took over his mind “How is he? Is he okay?”
“I don’t know,” the voice answered “But the doctor said it was bad.”
“No… which hospital??” Jun nearly broke the button as he could feel his fear raising. No, it’s too soon, you’re too young…
“Sorry I can’t tell you.” The voice said coldly and then a beep resounded. Jun couldn’t ask for any further questions.
He stood dumbfounded in front of the gate, unable to compose himself. Where could he find him? He asked himself frantically, tried to suppress the fear growing inside his chest almost suffocating. But he couldn’t figure out the answer. Where could Ninomiya stay?
