koyote got hired by The Borg (aka. AOL). This means we'll be moving to Virginia within about the next month (early June is our deadline, due to restrictions on flying cross-country during late pregnancy). This is somewhat overwhelming, but exciting.

Congratulations! It seems like all sorts of cool people are joining AOL and moving east. Maybe one of y'all can get me a job. ;)

Hopefully gdmusumeci and aiglet can help you get settled a bit. I'd talk to a doula or midwife about finding someone that knows the good hospitals out there.

I have a few recommendations for midwives, so hopefully something will work itself out :)

Change after change.

life is so lifelike... congratulations on getting mode of survival out of the way. Virginia... Moira's out on that side of the world somewhere, yes?

Are your grandparents in ill health? No one tells me these things. Hell.

I'm really happy that your life seems to be working. Yes. One more reason to visit the east coast at some point.

Be well. please.

Moira is in one of the Carolinas. I can never remember which is which. I really must respond to her email that she sent months ago.

I don't know of any immediate threats to my grandparents' health, but they're old, you know? I also don't know what, if anything, you've heard from the Vandenberg side of the family, but Grandma V. had a TIA (mild stroke-like thingy, I'm sure Aunt Marianne can explain it better) a few weeks ago. Not that this puts her in any immediate danger of dying, but it's still worrisome.

So far, I am well, with no sign that I will be otherwise :)

We'll be in Northern Virginia, in the DC area (Yes, I know it's the yuckiest part of the state, but we don't exactly have a choice :). Not sure of the exact town yet. I'll be sure to let you know more details when we have them.

I'm happy for you and bummed for all of us. *wry grin* And I hope your move is as pain-free and easy as mine has been so far!

I hope so, too! I'm sorry we couldn't make it to help with that, though it sounds like you had just the right number of people so we probably would have just been in the way.

Yes, we did end up almost at capacity. Let me know when your moving day is, and if it doesn't overlap with ours I'll try to make it up to help you out.

Has koyote talked to you about Whole Earth Festival yet? It's May 9-11, and you all are welcome to come up for the festival/bbq/pool, spa, and sauna use/etc. If we need any help with boxing things up, that would be the best time to do it, since the majority of stuff is probably leaving later that week.

From what koyote has said, it should be a pretty simple move - the movers will just take care of everything, even most of the boxing up. I find this a little hard to comprehend.
