I don't know why DC would not want to do an "origins" movie for their other major players. I personally would *love* to see a Green Lantern movie myself to introduce the character. (I really like the Green Lantern mythos myself.) Hal Jordan, Air Force pilot, is downed over enemy territory by an unknown bogey. Much to his surprise, he sees it is an alien named Abin Sur who gives him a mysterious green ring.....
Wolverine as an Avenger for the first team movie would be overkill on the character, IMO. I like Wolvie, but I don't want to have him in everything. Have him show up in the second or third Avengers movie if they must, but make the point that compared to Captain America, Thor, and Iron Man, he's a supporting character. He might be Earth's Most Popular (Anti-)Hero, but he's not one of Earth's Mightiest Heroes. :D
I saw in the 'movies upcoming' on wikipedia for the next few years and there was a Captain America and a Thor movie :) then Iron Man 2 and apparently The Avengers will be a third movie in that trilogy with all the other characters coming in. Apparenly, could just be wishful thinking. I'm dubious about The Incredible Hulk - only cause The Hulk was terribly boring (how on earth they managed to make it so boring I don't know) but I like Edward Norton too!
But I'd say Marvel on a whole are doing a better job, though I adore Bale as Batman (really adore). It's awesomeness just can't be enough to top the Marvel mountain ;) [I even like Daredevil and I can't stand a bar of Ben Affleck]
It is funny though that Catwoman and Elektra were just so horrible. A thorn each in both 'comic industries'.
Just needed to use this icon too :) Apologies for any typos (its not it's above was one of them). Using a text based browser so hopefully makes sense ;)
Yeah, that's how they are planning it - have Thor and Captain America have their own origins movie and then an avengers movie. But that's NOT how DC is doing, they are going to skip the origins movies and go straight to the JLA movie.
I'm not a Marvel comics reader, but I've really enjoyed all their movies.
I've been a DC fan since I was 10 years old, and, more specifically, of the Legion of Super-Heroes. They only made a half-way decent cartoon of them, so a live-action movie is something I'm sure I'll never see. Too bad, all that futuristic stuff...
I wish they'd have a couple members of the Legion show up on Smallville. It would be following DC canon if they did.
There were two other animated apearences of the Legion, one on Superman, "New Kids in Town" and the other on Justice League Unlimited, "Far From Home" -- or was it "A Long Way From Home"? Both of these, and especially the latter, was way, way better than their own series, in terms of the art.

Sorry, Legion rant over...
