I spent a good part of last night clearing out my inbox. That's my email inbox. Oh, and unsubbing from a handful of the millions of stuff I have subscribed to over the years. Now, I will have room for all the Idol email, and I can start readingin earnest.
Enjoy you day, guys!
(I get brownie points for not rising to Gary's bait, right? Brownies? Chocolate cookies?) Winks
There's this cool thing you can attach to your email called Unroll.Me. You go through your emails and select what you still want in your inbox, what you want to unsubscribe from and what you want to "roll up." Then it combines all the "rolled up" ones into one convenient email each day. It keeps my email way more organized and readable!! (this sounds like I commercial, lol, but I have seriously loved having it!)
I am, oddly enough, thankful that I am sick with a chest cold and am not going to the family dinner where I would have to listen to them whining and trumpeting (another politically divided California family) while I spent my time coughing and sneezing all over them
( ... )
Happy Thanksgiving to all! I am thankful for having everyone in my family together for a few days (daughter goes to college too damn far away!). I am responsible for the feast, so I won't really be able to start reading entries until tomorrow. I am also very thankful to all those who had to use byes this week - 25 in my tribe! This will make it a little more manageable.
Perhaps the Great and Powerful Gary would consider granting everyone a third bye, thereby displaying his wisdom and compassion, since so many first week byes must be due to a confluence of bad things, such as late entrants, Thanksgiving, or just plain bad karma.
I am thankful that this past week is over -- I have been driven right around the bend by various personal, familial and professional issues... so much so that I was unable to find the time or energy to even post that I was going to have to use my first "Bye" this week. I couldn't even think up a story idea that I really liked until late last evening, after the deadline.
That being said, let this post serve as a "Notice of Intent" that I still plan on writing the piece I came up with last night as a Home Game entry. If nothing else, the practice will help me "limber up" for next week...

My friend's kindergarten aged son had a creative writing assignment titled If I Were a Turkey with a turkey picture to color.
He wrote:
If I were a turkey, I would be dead. I would be eaten. I would be gone.
(Pretttt sure this was not the teacher's intent)
