My friend's 14yo is interested, but they've had a lot of end-of-school-year stuff going on this week and he won't have time to be online until sometime tonight; I'm not sure what time. If you don't extend sign-ups, is it possible for me to post something in his stead, even though he's not my kid (with his mom's permission, of course)?

I'm going to be extending them.

But yeah, with her permission (and his of course!) that would be OK.

I support the idea of keeping the sign-ups open through the first week. I've put the word around, but it might be more tempting to sign up if the kids' parents have a prompt and a week of entries to review for an idea of what's going to be happening.

I can't believe I nearly missed the deadline. Glad you're extending it. I'm looking forward to a good distraction.

Also, GRRM? That's pretty cool that he responded. I don't read his books, but I do follow his 'Not a Blog.'

As I told him, I (of course) love the Song of Ice and Fire books. But Fevre Dream and Armageddon Rag were *huge* favorites of mine as a teenager.
