Without a doubt, my champion in real life would be my boyfriend. Of course, I was once his champion in Idol, before we were a couple, which is pretty cool in and of itself.

He's my partner-in-crime in life. We get into trouble together, sure... But that's part of the fun. I know he's always there to help me out of trouble too.

I've known where my champion was since, oh, about fifteen minutes after the topic went up. :)

As far as an IRL champion, though...man. I'd like to think I'd pick my significant other, and while he's good at lots of things, we have a lot of overlap in skills, and I'm not sure how useful that would be.

...so I'd probably pick my friend Royce. He's got the artistic talent, he's physically fit, and he's a PhD candidate, so I know he's smart.

...plus his wife would laugh immensely. :3

My champion is going to be my lovely wife and frequent editor, team_jessie! I know that she was involved in Idol this season, but lord, it was almost a year ago now. She had to drop very early on due to being pulled in too many other directions. I hope that degree of separation is sufficient ...almost everyone I know who has a Livejournal has already been involved with Idol at some point!

(And it's frankly hard to come up to someone on FB and say, hey, can you commit to doing a piece of world-class writing in 48 hours, oh and also sign up for a site to do it? Specifically, the site that is a Ye Olde Internet Punchline to social media the way AOL is to ISPs?) :)

I've been wheedling a great friend into trying Idol in its next incarnation. She's an outrageously gifted writer and we joined LJ together over a decade ago....back when it was all about the words. So...........the Champion twist was the perfect chance for me to full-blow panic and ask her to write. She agreed so quickly that it quelled any of the hesitation I felt going into the request. I'm looking forward to seeing what she comes up with.

In RL, my champion is and always will be My Man.
