Green Room - Break - Day 11

Welcome to 2012!!

For me, 2011 had its ups and downs, but for the most part was very much up! I started last season's New Year (and on my facebook!) with the Hold Steady song "A Positive Jam"! I'm enough of a superstitious traditionalist that I'm not going to mess with what is working ( Read more... )

Oh I have been slack too, feel bad about it but the temperture is around 100f today, 40c??...Any excuse.
Just don't crack that whip too hard Gary.
NY spent with friends was awesome. Food? huge prawns in lettuce beds as a start. Assorted meats and salads, crackers and smoked cheese, and an olive dip that was delicious, baby potatoes with mint, several antipasto dishes. Then desserts to die for!.... a fruit jelly made with sparkling red wine, a merengue cake with custard cream, and strawberries, then more cheeses and tiny chocolate cups containing mousse.
Then sitting in the garden looking at the moon, drinking wine, it was a balmy night. But we weren't late, guess who was mad enough to be doing a Market stall on January 1st....? got it in one. That is another story. But getting up at 6.am was just the start of it.

Happy 2012! We spent all day on NYE at Epcot- from about 10am until 2am! It was a long day but fun! The park was packed, as I'm sure you can imagine! Got a Fast Pass to do the Soarin' ride later that evening; we saw "Captain Eo" (circa 1986), watched the O Canada 360 film, rode the rides at Mexico and Norway, rode Mission to Mars, and watched the awesome fireworks at midnight. We got back to our car around 1:15 in the morning but didn't get out of the parking lot for nearly an hour, and made it back to our hotel in Lakeland around 3am! The only good part to sitting in the parking lot for so long was the fact that we were finally off our feet, lol ( ... )

can I use this as a place to request an extra bye? I had been hoping to save my bye's but I injured my back one week and the in my attempt to get the topic done, I realized that the due date had been the day before. I know it's lame, so I get if I can't get an extra one, but I figured if people get baby byes it might be worth asking for a wedding bye. My wedding is the 4th. I am going to try and write my entry, but I'm in a totally different city with very little internet access so not only is the wedding going to make it hard, but that kind of makes it even harder. Anyway, if it's a not I understand. I should have saved my byes but I figured it was worth a try.

My New Years Eve went well, hanging out with a couple of friends helping them get rid of some berry Stoli a few ounces at a time and watching Anderson and Kathy in Times Square on TV.

Now we're relaxing as I prepare to go back to work tomorrow evening (my holiday day off was Friday)

As for how I feel, I think it's more like a Mayan since I was about to get started on a 2013 calendar when the neighboring Aztecs informed me my culture is going to be
collapsed and assimilated instead -- hope those nice Spaniards in the fancy boats in a century or so treat us better. =)

Well, I spent New Years Eve at work, then I came home and I slept through New Years Day. So far it seems pretty typical.
