Green Room - Break - Day 11

Jan 01, 2012 11:59

Welcome to 2012!!

For me, 2011 had its ups and downs, but for the most part was very much up! I started last season's New Year (and on my facebook!) with the Hold Steady song "A Positive Jam"! I'm enough of a superstitious traditionalist that I'm not going to mess with what is working ( Read more... )

I wish you, Gary, and all the Idolers past and present a very happy new Gregorian calendar time passage thingie.

So far, 2012 has been nice to me.

The boy and I had a quiet evening in last night with the semi-daughter, showing her FRINGE for the first time and eating homemade chicken eggrolls and fried rice. Today has been about catching up on housework that hadn't gotten done all through December. There's a crockpot beef stew cooking today and a turkey ready to cook tomorrow in our new electric roaster.

I feel rested, warm, healthy and happy for the first time in a very, very long time. I hope I am not tempting Fate.

You had egg rolls too? Nice :)

I hope that this New Year's is a sign of good things to come for you this year!

Hi!

I'm only splotchily online in terms of commenting -- still packing things. Also feeling sorta off, but I think it will go away. :)

We started off the year with friends (gratefuladdict & her husband), good food (stew! pie!), and Star Wars. I mean, can it get any better?
My husband got sick, though, and is still sleeping. :(

2012 thus far has been good. :)

Sadly, gizmoagogo and her minions were not able to attend. I'm sure the three of them had a marvelous time while their humans were away, though. Playing on the dining room table, things like that.

It's not a party without her!

I suppose you could have done worse though. At least you got to hang out with people lucky enough to wait on her hand and foot.

I've never been one to fuss much about NYE, but last night was fun in a very relaxed sort of way. Had wings and queso for dinner, ice cream, and watched some hockey and a long string of Big Bang Theory episodes with dizzydog and EK. 2012 is off to a lovely start.

Oh, and it's a beautifully absurd 67 degrees out today here in NC. Just ridiculous.

Yes, but Tuesday it's going to be COLD.

We're just north of Durham. I am lamenting that the horses need today off since the rest of the week is going to be much much colder but we've ridden three days in a row (I seriously couldn't ride today if I wanted to).

It's back to the 50s and 60s by the end of the week though - just a few days of cold to make us appreciate when the nice weather comes back again. I'm going to enjoy it while I can.
