For those who are new - or generally missed it in the FAQs - the Work Room is a space to bounce ideas and talk about writing. Yours. Other peoples. Give and take advice.

It's your space. I'm sure you can come up with something to do with it.

Every once in awhile, I'll bring in a "Mentor" to Tim ( Read more... )

Excellent! A train of thought is all you need to get started.

I usually have heard most proverbs, but that's a new one to me. Interesting, though, because without a pre-conceived notion of what it *should* mean, I can make it mean whatever I want, lol. ;)

That is an excellent way of looking at it. I did post some of my thoughts below to theafaye.

I did go poking around a bit, just because I found it to be interesting phrasing and was curious if my guesses were accurate, etc.

But, I had a couple of other thoughts pop into my head before I did that though, which have zip to do with the proverb's actual meaning, lol, so hopefully one of those will coalesce into something.

I'm leaning towards non-fiction, since I think that's my strength.

I might try dialogue. It depends on where my thougths go.

Yes! Definitely write what you love to write and what you feel most comfortable with. This is all about showing people who you are.

Yay for Tea! I had a feeling the first topic wouldn't be "Introductions" since that's what we're accustomed to.

That's a good lesson for everybody. If you'd got a pretty solid idea in your head of which direction this game is going, assume Gary has the most diabolical, alternate idea in his.

Yes, that is why this year, everyone is going to be judged ten points on writing, three points on formalwear, four points on the talent portion, and three points on swimsuits.

Guess I lose 3 points right off the bat :(
