Of the three, this one is going to be the most difficult to write. I've known you the longest of the three, and as you mentioned, we're friends. Which always makes it a little awkward to talk about someone as a contestant ( Read more... )

Thank you for these kind words, they mean a lot to me. I’m sure lots of people don’t know how far I’ve gotten before, or some of the interesting connections I have in my real life. And I wondered if I’d have a target on my back because of having done so well in the past, such that I made sure not to talk about it!

There’s that competitive spirit that creeps in the closer you get to the end, and you really have to decide for yourself where is your line.

I’m glad someone noticed how I tried to do idol as if livejournal was still really a thing. That was purposeful. Coming back here I wanted livejournal to be what it use to be. use it how I use to use it. Yes for idol my writing was more polished, more purposeful, but the ideas, what to write about is what I would have written about in my livejournal in the past.

Again thank you for being you, for providing this space. For listening to us all yell with excitement and complaint. Writers can be passionate people after all!

If I had known how much of a "threat" you were, I might have actually tried to play this game with a little bit of strategy. But I'm glad I didn't, because it would mean that I probably wouldn't have the chance to get to know you and I would have missed out on those conversations ( ... )

I think the three of us would have been an amazing finale, definitely!

I would have loved this to be a shared victory between the both of us. Which would have felt right! But if we'd arrived at the end with the same number of votes, Gary would have made us go through yet another round with a death write off, and no, that definitely I would NOT have liked :D ( ... )

I certainly never underestimated kittenboo! I think the voting has shown (for many, many months now) how much readers appreciated her work this season. And even when writing about her deepest worries and vulnerabilities, there was a confidence in tone that demonstrated her commitment to telling her story each and every week--no matter how hard it might be.

I hadn't realized that you (Gary) had hoped to bring back writers from such earlier seasons this time around. That explains why the 'flavor' of so many prompts seemed much more conducive to non-fiction than to fiction, and perhaps also why non-fiction did so much better late in the game than fiction. It was a retro event altogether!
