Results - Week 30
If I had money, I would have put it on the odds that rayaso was making it to the finals. That he might just the guy to break the "No Man Has Ever Won a Regular Season of Idol" curse. When I said that there was a "head pick", someone that if you just looked at the way things tend to flow, was the one who if they got to the end would probably be the "favorite."
There was even a part of me that was starting to wonder if there was a small chance of all male Top 3. It's first time we've ever had this many guys close to the finale, so it was the first time I've ever been able to speculate about such a thing happening...
Instead, we are saying goodbye to him here, at the Top 5.
It has been an amazing run. I used "favorite" in quotes earlier. Because at this point everyone is a favorite of someone. But I don't think there's any denying the amount of love out there for rayaso over the years, with good reason. He's an incredible writer, and an incredible person. Thank you so much for giving so much of yourself, in your entries and in the way you treat other people.
I'm going to miss reading his entries. But fortunately not for very long, since no one has very long left in their run.
I don't even get to welcome him to the Jury, since their final decision has been made - they gave the penultimate immunity this week.
Immunity started out as being really close. Then the votes for one person just took off. It looked like it was going to be a run-away/not even close. But then the tide turned and almost all the rest of the votes that came in were for the other person... and the last couple votes were mixed. Who was ahead on the vote count changed at least 4 times over the course of the last 24 hours. It ended up being decided by 2 votes. Which is in true Season 11 fashion.
