Weekend was good. We started watching a new reality TV show, called “Dude, You’re Screwed!” It’s basically a team of I think 6 survival experts (Navy Seals, Green Berets, etc) who teamed up and one at a time each gets snatched, blindfolded, and dropped off in an unknown location with little more than the clothes on their back and a few semi-helpful items from the others. There is a cameraman with them but they can’t help in any way. The rest of them have a base camp where they can watch the Survivor’s progress via the camera, and if necessary can pick them up if there’s injury, etc. The person has 100 hours to find civilization. They have to find food, water, build their own shelters, etc. it’s really cool!
For the rest, over the last week I heard about a school friend arrested for trying to kill lots of people, then another friend with a confirmed diagnosis of stage 4 cancer and myself reduced to a whimpering mess by a bad case of sciatica. Not the best of times.
I've honestly almost forgotten that I'm still in this competition; it feels like it's been so long for me to wait for this deadline. And the quicker it approaches, the more anxious I become that I posted too quickly and should have taken some more time for editing.
Then again, I don't ever really edit my stuff that heavily, whether I post it the day we get the topic or the day of the deadline or anywhere in between, so I guess I should stop worrying so much.
My weekend was weirdly eventful but I left it feeling like I hadn't done anything, probably because my sink is still full of dishes. 6:00pm me is not going to be a big fan of weekend me because of that.
