Happy May the 4th! I’m celebrating by doing exactly what I do every other day of the year - working. Well mostly I’m wasting time online. I’m currently trying to figure out immigration issues, which is pretty frustrating. But I should be working.
I know I’m not as active with commenting these days. I feel like I don’t have much to say. I feel tired all the time - which is normal for me when I’m a bit overwhelmed. I’m sure a lot of us are feeling overwhelmed at the moment.
Yesterday was our first summery day here and everything went to hell in a handbasket despite most of our state parks/beaches being closed. I ran into actual traffic coming home from work, LOL! It's going to be nice today, too, so it'll be interesting to see if the same thing happens.
I didn't save the link (of course) but somebody on FB linked to an article about how our pre-frontal cortexes are programmed to say "the hell with everything" come 6-8 weeks into a major life shift, whether it's a quarantine or quitting smoking or anything along those lines. It was quite enlightening.
I haven't been around much except to post occasional navel-gazing because I've been in that sort of mood lately. But hey, I'm here now!
Texas started reopening on Friday. I just took Ellie back to daycare this morning. I'm a little nervous about doing that, but she needs to be around other kids, instead of just stuck in a pack 'n' play for 8 hours a day while my husband and I work. I'm also not entirely convinced we're not going to end back up on lockdown in a few weeks, so she might as well go when she can.
Other than that, though, we're not going anywhere else. Too many dumb people around here to risk it!
Ya got that right about too many dumb ppl. Yeah...wow... Work is good. It's very helpful. HoneyB also needs to be w kids for developmental reasons. I can't imagine all these day cares n preschools in a year or 2 with all the non-socialized kids due to COVID-19.
Hello GR! Still working, still writing, still a bit bored the rest of the time. Has anyone watched a Prime series called “Upload”? We just finished episode 5. It’s SO good!!
No big plans for tonight. Picking up Long John Silver’s for dinner. Whee.
