I didn't know him at all, but after reading that summary, I feel a palpable sense of sadness at his passing... I do hope his people are someday able to give him that multicon send-off. 😢

Me, too. I also don't know his partner, but when she described not being okay after losing him... her pain was touching. The primary bio tagline on his profile reads, "THE WORLD NEEDS MORE HAPPY... Be Radically Kind!" and I get the feeling I've missed out not knowing someone so joyous, so special, so sweet, so dear. I am seeing a lot of people on friends list posted their sense of loss over having him taken from them, and I think they were the lucky ones to have had his spark in their lives. And I imagine the world is a darker place now without it. :-/

I get the feeling I've missed out not knowing someone so joyous, so special, so sweet, so dear. I was seriously thinking along those lines too. He sounds like such a lovely person! I'm glad he had a lot of love in his life <3

We weren’t super close, but we were friends. I’m not sure how we first met, livejournal or friends in the philly area maybe. I know that I invited him to our Christmas party every year, and finally a bunch of years ago, before he got cancer, he came. And I remember being so excited that he finally made it!

He was very open about all his medical stuff from the time he first got sick, on. And his partner Steph has been doing the same thing since his recent hospitalization. I feel for her. It is profoundly sad.

Why am I not surprised that you knew him, too? I wrote a poem about him today that talks about how good he was at connecting all these different people.
