It looks like that... I kept waiting for a topic last night, but I suspect Gary is just being kind to those in this match, as if we were all trying to get our own entries out, we might be otherwise unable to give these the attention and support they deserve. Everyone in this list is quite good, and so someone talented is about to be going to the home game (unless eliminated main competition contestants are still rolling over to Second Chance?), and the decision that will bring that harsh hammer down deserves undistracted input from everyone.

Is it possible, this is the reset when everyone left in second chance will join the main competition?? I’m wondering if that’s why everything is wonky right now.

The sad thing about playing theorist now is that my fellow theorist is with me only in spirit. One of the highlights of Idol yore was bantering about different theories as banana_galaxy mentioned upthread. Everything changes sooner or later.

My "what if" theory that I mentioned that I had, but wasn't going to say until voting was over: What if the Second Chancers who felt they were in the middle/bottom of the pack didn't vote for who they considered to be the strongest members of the main competition, giving themselves a better shot at getting back into the game later on?

Regardless of how it would work out - some of your, perceived, strongest competition would be out! ;)

Since I'm not allowed to vote this week I can play with all these scenarios, LOL. Truthfully, theorizing has always been, for me, just as important as the writing. It's a game. It took me a long time to realize that. Once I did, I found myself not agonizing so much over polls other than the "am I in or out this week?" sense. I've never been a poll watcher because the few times I was it ramped up whatever anxiety I already possess. Gary will dislike hearing this but I have more things IRL that ignite my anxiety more than Idol ever has.

BTW, this coming from somebody who hasn't watched either Survivor or The Amazing Race the last few seasons. My TV watching has fallen off the turnip truck since I'm now working closing shifts. Bah.

This season I feel like voting is very different than past seasons I played in. In that there doesn't appear to be these massive differences in vote numbers from people getting friends to vote to inflate their numbers.

There have only been a couple of weeks where I felt like I was on the border and would've only needed to ask one or two extra people to vote for me to stay in, for example. I'm not used to this!

Oh, wow, I'm bummed we're going to be losing four of these awesome people to Sudden Death. Some of my very favorite writers are on this list :(
