Yesterday was full of running around to the doctor, the dentist and trying to stay out of the way of a tropical storm that popped up out of nowhere

My FB feed exploded with Sarahah yesterday. It's an app where you can leave anonymous comments about others (I told a FB friend that it reminds me of the slam books we had in high school where you wrote anonymous comments about your classmates). The utter horror expressed that such an app would exist coupled with the triggering of long past LJ drama which had involved a number of my friends at the time...I don't know. I really don't

I can totally see both sides of the story. On one hand, people want to be snarky without reprisal. That's great for them, but not for the people they're critiquing. And, I suppose, THOSE are the sorts of people who are running services like FB and such, which is why they force you to make your statements with a "real name" and "real face" attached.
But it's not like you can't still fake it all, grab a photoshopped image of someone and use it as your icon. Create a name and then base a username off of that. I know a few people who have been doing it that way for a very long while. They haven't been found out, or at least their accounts haven't been disabled, yet.
I think if everyone were a bit more forthright with the circumstances they have to face in their lives/if everyone had a bit more help with the circumstances they have to face in their lives, there would be less angst that needed an outlet by venting at people you don't personally know/care about through social media.

But there I go, tilting at windmills, yet again.
