I was just about to write a post about how irritating it was that every second reference to the recent acquisition of livejournal talked about its sale "to the Russians" with "OMG, we're moving BEHIND THE IRON CURTAIN" and "don't they still line up for basic groceries over there???" sorts of undertones. Really? I've actually seen more people talk about how fandom will probably flip its shit, and isn't fandom crazy/horrible, than I've seen fans actually flip their shit and be crazy/horrible.

Okay, and lots of jokes. But I confess I can't help finding even the bad ones funny on a day when Serious News is all dominated by Russia, AND NOW THEY GOT FANDOM TOO.

Um...from whence comes the assumption that I'm talking about fandom? A few of the people who irritated me were fans, but nowhere near all of them.

(They did all have one other thing in common, though, which I won't mention here on the grounds that I would be eye-rolled at myself.)

Eh, from my vague crankiness. I apologise. Like I said, I saw a number of 'fandom is so crazy' type comments without seeing any crazy, and from other occasions I have a bit of a crankynerve regarding that. But you're right, that was an assumption, not what's actually in the post. Sorry!
