14 Weeks

 Today was our 14 week check up. Pee, blood pressure, weight. CHECK!
They tried the doppler again to hear the heartbeat. Last time they couldn't find it with this machine, but this time we heard the beating as soon as she touched it to my skin. 150bpm going strong!  Its still hard to believe that there's another person in my gut!! No sign of any ( Read more... )

It's not eating a certain thing to gain... it's eating healthy well-balanced meals, just eating an extra 300 calories a day.. so add a small meal or a couple healthy snacks to your normal daily diet..

Not that you can't eat big macs, but I would suggest trying to limit that type of food.. although I got cravings like crazy for fried chicken early on in my pregnancy... it passed tho...

Just make sure you're taking your prenatal vitamins and an omega3/flax/dha type supplement. Calcium is important too, but moreso later on...

One thing I did though, was to stop drinking/eating fat-free dairy, and switched to 2%...

Poor Laura. I have terrible nausea with a wicked aversion to smells for days before my period and that drives me bananas. I couldn't imagine having to deal with it for months. The experts say morning sickness is a sign of a healthy pregnancy so that's a plus.

How does the Dr. expect you to gain weight if you can't keep anything down. Did (s)he give a list of stuff you should/nt eat or to aid with the sickness?
