Simon's eyes couldn't focus, and his breathing seemed off, but he couldn't figure how. His mouth felt like cotton and he stared at Kaito stupidly, barely recognizing who was before him. Sweat was dripping down his face, and the burning pain had dulled just enough for him to take comfort in the cold of kaito's hand against his head.

How long...?

Simon closed his eyes as Kaito left. He couldn't quite figure out what was happening or why it was... but...

No. He blinked. He had to stay focused.

But... why?

No. He had to get up. Move. Something.

And pushing his way up the wall, he took a few hesitant steps toward the kitchen toward something, anything to drink.

Kamina is not in the apartment.

Of course he isn't! He just has this gut feeling that Simon is currently not alright. Which was further proven when that Nia girl told him that Simon is in the hospital.

So yeah, he is running as fast as he can to the hospital, dammit!

Simon!

[Unsurprisingly he entered the room, but surprisingly, he didn't kick the door open in case he disturbed the passed out boy.]

...

[Looking at Simon unconscious still doesn't make him feel relieve though. He's just going to. Take a seat, and sat next to him.]

Nia, having yet again escaped from the Mushroom Palace when Princess Peach had snuck off to spend the afternoon (and likely the rest of the night) with Mario, to see Simon in the hospital. It had been a day or so since she'd found him in there while exploring the Kingdom on her own--seeing Beastmen and "humans" living alongside one another for the first time was an interesting sight to her--and she found she wanted to see him again. Simon was interesting in a way she never really thought about before ( ... )

Simon, by the time Nia arrived, was far too ready to leave the hospital. He hated it here. It was too white, and hurt his eyes. It was too clean and made him feel tiny and grubby. And most of all, it boxed him in... And for some reason, deep inside Simon, it made him feel sick.

But for some reason, when Nia's head peeked into the room, everything that had felt void of life suddenly brightened. He swore, she could make the darkest corner of the world bright. Something in his stomach got tight and he found himself staring for a second--before turning as red as someone like him could. He didn't bother to care that this room was supposed to be hidden, he didn't care he was running from Ganon, he didn't care about anything. For the first time in a long time, he gave her a bashful smile. Part of him wanted to leave the bed to see her--the rest of him knew that he wouldn't be able to stay on his feet very long. He hated this stupid being sick thing"A-ah? Y-yeah... I'm fine." And despite wanting to look away in embarrassment, ( ... )

"Are you sure?" she said, approaching him when his face went red and laying a hand on his forehead like she'd seen the nurses at the Palace do for the infirmed on the rare occasion she managed to make it down there. He didn't feel any warmer than usual, but she couldn't be sure. She'd never really done this before ( ... )

"H-huh?! N-no, it's fine--I'm... fine." He flared up brighter when she touched him, finally looking away, down and to the side, avoiding her eyes. Grasping, stupidly, for something to say, he's silent for a few moments, mouth opening and closing as he realized how stupid everything he thought of saying was.

"... Y-you shouldn't be here, you might catch whatever I had." He didn't want her to leave, but he didn't want to risk her getting sick, either.
