Did you get my response about Burn Notice, zoo, etc.? I was responding on my mom's computer, and couldn't tell if it posted correctly.

I do not think I *did* get your response, though, by way of an update, a new idea has occurred to me for how I can see that episode: bring my computer to the school's internet...?

Clever, no?

Still interested in the zoo, should you have time for it!

I don't think that I can do the zoo til Friday, when the fam leaves. However, if you're bored, you're welcome to come over and check-out our painting progress and hang-out with the baby.

surely the captains of the fleet have plenty to do without having to hear civilian grievances [...]? Doesn't it make more sense for each ship to have an elected leader?

Yes and yes. I think that's weird. But I'm almost past caring about the logistics at this point. (At least, the best they can raise from me is a half-hearted eyeroll.)

the 'Unintentional Self-Plagiarism' theory of valancy_s seems closer to the mark.

It's hard being right all the time :D I talked to my brother today and his theory about the big gap in the middle of this "season" is that the writers said, "Everyone thinks we'll end with finding Earth, so we'll do it in the middle and shock them all! Then we'll figure out where to go from there, it's fine, we have months and months..." and then filming started again and they all looked at each other and said "Umm... you got anything...?"

A very pure expression of the celtic anthem ‘Wander My Friends,’ during the scene where Adama and Tigh bid goodbye to Galactica.Ha! I'm not that observant; I just thought, "oh ( ... )

I guess I'm still a sucker for the old cliches, then. (I just prefer that they be father/son cliches...)

I get the feeling that you're not really in the mood, but have you seen this?

I don't have the fourth season dvds, and I didn't think you'd seen them, either. My feelings are not squee exactly, but something more along the lines of... I wouldn't blame Jamie Bamber and Katee Sackhoff if they kidnapped RDM and installed him in a convenient pillory somewhere. The scene, at the very least, makes sense in this version, and it's also an outstanding showcase for their characters.

Well, it's a cliche because it's effective. It reminded me of both the Titanic and the Rohan themes, both of which make me mist up.

I got more excited by Kara and her dad's version of The Song, though. I still think it was absurd of them to use the lyrics back when, but that arrangement IS fantastic.

OH! I don't think I'm ever not in the mood for a good Kara/Lee moment! (Or... even a bad one ;)). The added length and light moments (BANTER! I MISSED YOU!) were very nice. The one thing I'm glad they cut, though, is the "tell them they're going the wrong way" line - it's so much more effective for her to say "Lee" all plaintively and him to turn around and kiss her.

I agree that that moment didn't work; up till then, I had been right with them, and then when that happened, suddenly I didn't understand their motivations anymore - for the moment. But I did *learn* something interesting from what followed after she said that. I liked that Lee, who has always been a total nonbeliever, told her that she would succeed in convincing them. He acted like he *believed* her, which is bigger, even, than him simply not caring if she's a cylon/zombie/crackpot and loving her anyway. I found that interesting.
