Is this what economic development is doing to you?

Because I'm not intelligent enough, I will not attempt to discuss this topic with you and make a fool of myself, but those are some serious thought put into the writing and I'm definitely filing it away for future reference when I return to the mind numbing world of academia.

Unlike most of my peers, I'm actually open to the idea of communism, but all I get is blank stares as if I've contracted some disease, and I don't want to be jailed or something (LOL Big Brother) so I'll leave it as that.

Communism is an interesting concept and it has done China a lot of good in recent years, note they are not exactly exemplary examples of democracy.

I don't think it's the political idea that matters most, I think it's human agency. We can have the best intentions but the application will fuck up D;

I absolutely agree. Ultimately, humans are selfish and greedy. What Karl Marx came up with was a genuinely ideal concept or sharing with the people equally what the State owns, but, as much as I hate to bring this up, in George Orwell's Animal Farm, he mentioned the painful fact that even if we are equal, there will always be someone more equal than others.

Why would I mind you commenting 8D It's true, like individuals, every country is different. What I consider State intervention might not be State intervention in another country (most likely because it's being supported so much so that it becomes somewhat invisible and almost natural ( ... )
