Let us suppose that there is a person who needs to be spending time taking care of themself, and let us posit that this person is in the hospital. Let us also say that this person is very generous, very giving, and very hospitable. Ever heard of the "God is dead" movement in theology? It's not that popular anymore, but it was at one time.

I'm not suggesting studying atheist theology, since that doesn't make much sense to me. I'm saying that an atheist can study theology, and there's no inherent, performative contradiction.

Read your Godel...no system is ever completely derived from its axioms. Insight is as important to the Euclidean axiomatic method as is simple syllogistic logic. So no, Aquinas had something with that "light of grace" stuff. You can't be a theologian until you believe.

And that generous guy is better off for expending energy. Expend and receive, and economy of qi is far better than simply trying to hoard it.
