I'm near-officially a registered voter in the state of New York! I just sent in my registration form. As it turns out, you can vote in the primaries as long as you turn eighteen by the end of the election year. So hurray ( Read more... )

You have to turn 18 by the specific day of the election, which in this case is the primaries on February 5th. Which really fucking sucks, because I miss the deadline by 8 days.

I thought that too, but according to some state-issued email my mother got, I can vote in the primaries if I send in my registration by the eleventh. And I really do think it's eighteen by the end of the calendar year...I could be wrong, I guess...
