Now is the time to send everything you can into NBC/Universal because "Knight Rider", which is on WEDNESDAYS, is set to end in February and a new show, yet to be announced, will start in March in its place. Could it be "PD"????? Will our beloved show get its life back?????

Let's do all we can to let NBC/Universal know that a "PD" pick-up would be ( Read more... )

i already sent an e-mail to nbc but that right there would be some poetic justice. seeing as knight rider is utter crap and should never have got a back 9 in the first place. i know, i know. not to be bashing other shows but seriously... that piece of junk should've been left in the 80s where it belonged, sorry.

that said, not to be a downer, but surely it would be too late to make new episodes in time for march now?

Can they even legally switch networks within the season? I know it belong to WB and not ABC, but if ABC like they say technically has until late January to decide things for PD, you'd think they'd have some options in their contract allowing them to make a network switch impossible before next season.

+ Ian McShane, which is why I am going to watch. Mayb eit can help out Life by being a better lead in than KR as well.

I never watched KR, but it certainly blew chunks in the ratings. ;)

Also, NBC has no reason to pick up PD. They've got Bryan Fuller back on Heroes. If he goes for his show, which has already been cancelled on one netwrok, they lose him on one of their biggest money makers.

The only way I could see NBC picking up PD was if it was at a different time in the year from Heroes, or if PD got another show runner (which can either be OK or awful -- Buffy, I am looking at you).

Yeah, the logistics, legal wrangling, etc. to get the show on any other network within a few months -- just not possible.

And NBC, like all the other networks, have new shows to bring in midseason as well.

There's also the fact that because of the nature of the show and how it has aired (most eps have aired only once, with short seasons spaced apart) any network would also have an enormous problem on its hands with audience retention -- PD hasn't exactly been in syndication for a while like Scrubs.

And the reality is, no major network is going to gamble on a show with such incredibly low numbers, especially considering the panic in the industry over just that issue. Sucks, but I don't think NBC would ever consider touching Pushing Daisies, Fuller on Heroes or not.

It could be a bargain, "Come back to Heroes and we'll let you finish out PD on our network."

NBC is the lowest rated network. They have nothing to lose. They stuck with The Office so long and it had really low numbers in the beginning. Now it's their main cash cow sitcom. PD could fair well with a smarter audience that loves quirky shows like The Office, which is being sucked dry, imho.

I could definitely see it being successful on NBC.

I could too. And I actually like NBC. Most of the shows I used to watch a lot were on NBC- The Office, Will & Grace, ER, SNL... lots.
