Oh my god, Raul.

I remember absolutely dying when he came on the show.

I wish I could see this D:

The performance below has got to be one of his greatest if not THE greatest performance from him. So, I'm putting it here for those curious and unfamiliar. :)

(side note: The composer of this song/show, "Being Alive" from Company, is Stephen Sondheim... the man responsible for Sweeney Todd. Just another little tidbit for those unfamiliar.)

OMG, I loooooove this! I saw him in Company on Bway and he was brilliant. Sondheim for the win!

I am so jealous of you. I wanted to make a trip up last year but couldn't do it at the time - wish I had as it would have kept me from wasting all my money on a move to South Carolina which turned out to not at all be what I was hoping for. Though it was a nice experience. ANYWAY! Yeah, I just wish I had been able to see him. I practically peed myself when PBS announced it would include it in its Greatest Performances series. Which I have watched numerous times since its airing. It's not the same as seeing it live, but it's as close as I'll ever get and I am thankful for it.

wo0t Sondheim! I really hope the Follies film gets made...

Actually, I prefer the way he performs it in the recent PBS Great Performances telecast of Company. But then again, I'm a stickler for it in context.

Your version is from the 2007 Tony Awards. I've seen both Company and Curtains, and man Raul should have won over David Hyde Pierce. Not that DHP isn't great, he is, but Raul's Robert was INCENDIARY. I've seen 5 casts of Company over the years and I have never seen a Bobby that intense; his blew me away.
