That first track is 100% computer free (except sequencing).
Usually its a computer based sampler / sequencer hooked up to a Dr. Groove which goes through a Roland effect unit. No s-series but Dan is working on circuit-fucking an old casio SK-1 sampler with exciting results.
The other ones are a lot older and are mostly just samples.

Yeah, that first track is especially sweet. I still have an old cz-101 that gets some fun sounds. A lot of those older Casio's have a great harsh digital quality about them that you can't really find anywhere else.

Thanks, I'm pretty proud of that "freak-out". You should hear the non-edit.
That digital sound is really hard to tame, though, at least on the sampler. You say something like "hello" into it and, if you connect the right contacts together it will give you a randomly orchestrated masterpiece with your hellos in the front and thousands of bells and whistles (bells and whistles literally) and it just sounds completely inhuman and retarded, which is desired of course. After a while it gets too crowded and there's nothing you can do besides completely reset it.
I'll probably end up changing this myspace thing a lot to feature the work I do with Dan. The stuff is just much better because dan will work on single arrangements forever when I will just go and try to pour my heart out causing things to get sloppy (which can be really good in electronic music or completely terrible). Either way is good but when you have both aspects its way better.
