THIS SO SO FREAKING MUCH. I have a particularly strong vendetta against the WBC for picketing a high school in my city, and I am literally crying this makes me so fucking happy. It makes me want to cuss and giggle and kick things, which in me is a normal reaction to *utter bliss*. Ohmigod. Breathe, Al, breathe

But there's always a police presence just because people fear it's going to get violent because the ideals they're promoting are so incendiary. :(
I WISH I WAS THERE TOO. I WOULD'VE COSPLAYED AS THE DOCTOR AND HAD A "GOD HATES DALEKS" SIGN OR SOMETHING.

Because I live right in the middle of the Bible Belt, last week was some convention for the Baptist churches in our convention center downtown. WBC was there. And Lady Gaga was playing the venue across the street. When I got there, WBC and all the other people were protesting her and yelling at the people in line for the show... The people in line were having so much fun just yelling "why you mad?" and variations at the protesters. And there were various signs from the people in the Gaga line that were in retaliation to the protesters.
Basically, Westboro needs to sit down.

They do. They need to get the message that no one takes them seriously and just have a seat in the corner. :/

But ugh, they picketed a school? I knew about the funerals they protest, which is really rather disgusting. But a school? They should be arrested, kids can't really fight back against that kind of bigotry.

Yeah, apparently they've protested more than one school; the one I knew of, they left before school hours, and they were technically across the street from it, but still; they even announced beforehand that they were targeting the school's GSA. I support freedom of speech and all, but I think schools should be protected from this kind of crap. Augh, these people make me sick. Their website literally terrifies me - I looked at it once and I was like, oh my god. These people are sick.
