[Splinter opens his eyes. He's been meditating in Mikey's room (the windows were open - naturally), struggling to maintain stability while the hope that Michelangelo might return remained intact. So much hinged on this knowledge...
How Michelangelo got there, Splinter didn't know. He was merely grateful.]
[Don had been pacing the interior of the room, fiddling with the items and just...waiting.]
[Because Mikey was late.]
[So when Mikey shows up - how and why and when all irrelevant - it might take Don a few moments to notice, but when he does he's going to be bailing across the room to wrap his little brother in a hug (hands searching for burns and wounds and anything else that might be wrong) and he doesn't care who he has to shove aside to do so.]
[Leo's head jerked up at the sound of his little brother's arrival, but he didn't move from where he was seated on the couch, hands clasped between his knees. He'd let Don take care of things for the moment; he needed to. For himself.]
[Mike flinches at the voices, but a fraction of a second later he relaxes. His family. They're here.
He forces a weak, strained smile.]
Hey guys ...
[He's wrapped in Don's arms and for just a second he doesn't move because he forgets that he can, and then he's worried that if he does move it'll all fall apart.
But it's his brother and his best friend and he's right there and he needs this so badly, and so his arms reach around to cling to his brother's carapace like he might vanish again and Don's his anchor point.]
