As someone who cares enough to vote in the golden state but has been missing out on the day-to-day of it by living far away and being busy--thanks!! for posting this. Historic.

One of my favorite political cartoons also noted the degree to which Meg Whitman outspent Jerry Brown.

That's about right.

Meanwhile, in the Oregon governor's race, former Governor and experienced politico (and medical doctor, who once saved the life of an audience member, who had a heart attack in the middle of a debate) John Kitzhaber appears to have beaten the totally inexperienced Republican Chris Dudley by, at the Oregonian's current count, 6,003 votes. I've been jittering all day on this one.
