Title: Disaccord
Pairing/Characters: Oishi x Eiji
Disclaimer: Does not belong to me.
Eiji wanted something quick that he could tap his foot to. Oishi wanted something soft and melodic. But this was for quiet studying and Oishi couldn't understand how Eiji could concentrate with that kind of music. Eiji didn't understand how Oishi could concentrate without.
Sometimes Eiji wanted something a bit softer when Oishi wanted something to drown out the rest of the world. But this was for a calm evening when the only things that really mattered were Eiji's back against Oishi's chest and Oishi's fingertips trailing up and down Eiji's arm.
When Eiji learned to drive, Oishi almost had to stick his head out the window to escape the resonant beat, but Eiji wanted his first fly down the highway to be fast and loud. Oishi's first drive was up a mountain trail with music so light and airy it felt like listening to wind chimes.
They didn't exchange CD's on birthdays and holidays because one never knew what to get for the other, but Eiji had stumbled on a song once while absently flipping through radio stations that both of them liked. It was an older song; solid with a foundation that other songs were built from.
Oishi had said that they should call it their song since it was the only one they seemed to remotely agree on. Eiji had punched him lightly on the shoulder and teased the sentimentality, but whenever it did come on the radio he'd turn the volume down low and let the music drift to him. As if he wanted to keep it safe where no one else could hear.
