I am ALWAYS most attracted to the shelter cats with the lowest likelihood of adoption, even when I'm trying to be open minded. Thus pretty much as soon as I saw two cats to be adopted together, both older, one half-shaved and hugely fat, I thought OH YES, THESE ARE OUR CATS. I can't bear to think of cats who have spent years together being split up simply because nobody wants to adopt them together.

I am naturally drawn to the difficult cases! Oberon (the orange one pictured last) was a shelter stray who was a literal disaster when I adopted him 12 years ago now, half his hair all matted up, battle-scarred, and every single whisker on his face broken. He's cleaned up pretty nice in the intervening years, though he's still a fighter.
