My grandfather taught me how to sow seeds, how to plant out, how to weed, how to graft fruit trees, and even how to make compost behind the lavatory which collected all the piss and shit from the house. The lavatory was very small, with no window, and your face was right against the door when it was shut. I sat there on the wooden seat for hours
