Is anyone on my flist watching Young Justice? Because basically you should be. It is delightful! (Except for that one time it was traumatizing, but it was still excellent, even then.) I enjoy all the characters so much that I basically end up shipping whichever two happen to be interacting at any given time ( Read more... )

I haven't! And I've seen it mentioned a little, so a gave it a go. :3 I'm not that into it yet, but I've only watched a few episodes so far. It seems kind of non-chronological? Does it get more chronological later in the season?

The first 5-6 or so "episodes" aren't actually episodes. They're compilations of a lot of these little "microepisodes" that were released prior to the actual series, to provide backstory/etc. They were then later combined into "episodes" to be included in the DVDs, I think (they are definitely in the queue on Netflix, which is how I started watching the series at a friend's house). But yeah, they're not proper eps. The first "actual" ep is "Breakout, Pt 1." And from then on it's very chronological, and the plot is gr8. But anyway, I'd say it's worth it to watch the stupid minisodes b/c they will help with understanding certain things later. But I didn't enjoy them that much. But when the series proper got going, I loved it.

I had heard they were complied from "microepisodes" which is why I thought it was worth asking if things got smoother later. I like my TV chronological, but I'm okay with watching other stuff for backstory if I think the pay-out will be worth it. (I've actually already watched breakout pts 1 & 2, because they come before the compliation episodes in the episode listing, but I think it would have made more sense to have Breakout after, given the actual chronology of things. *hands* I'm sure I'll figure it out.)

hello, i know we haven't talked in a very long time. i just came onto my flist for the first time in like a year, only to find this right at the top of it!

anyway, i am madly into avengers/marvel stuff at the moment. if you have the time or inclination i highly recommend you read young avengers! i've never ever ever been a comic fan but wow, young avengers is just so good. maybe even more enjoyable than the regular adventures comics!

as for animations, the avengers: earth's mightiest heroes is brilliant. for a kid's show, it's so witty and amusing. the animation is good too, and edfgdefgv the voice actor for tony stark sounds so much like rdj it's uncanny. for a kid's show, wow, it's got some great stuff.

also i watched tales of asgard a while ago and really enjoyed it. it's an animated film rather than a series, i think it's just over an hour long. it's about thor and loki when they were (well, when they looked) about fifteen or sixteen. i can probably find you a link to watch it if you like :)

Haha. I've been meaning to read Young Avengers for aaaaages (with no small amount of encouragement from wanttobeatree >__>). Maybe I'll kick my ass into gear and actually get around to it, though. I always feel weirdly intimidated by actual comics, before I start reading them.

I've just started dipping my toes into Earth's Mightiest Heroes, and whoa. YOU REALLY WEREN'T KIDDING ABOUT THAT RDJ SOUND-ALIKE. o.o

*grabby hands* I'm pretty sure Tales of Asgard would be relevant to my interests. I think I've seen some gifs of it on tumblr, and was curious about where they came from. :D

Also, for the record, you're quite welcome to just turn up and help me find awesome stuff to enjoy, even if you haven't been around in a while. :D YAY, STUFF.

a great thing about young avengers for me is that it's a good stepping off point for comic noobs (which i really was/still am tbh). i mean you've probably seen thor, iron man/2, cap: the first avenger, right? all you really need to know is that the avengers disbanded due to lack of funds and the young avengers have formed in their image. anything else needs about a minute on wikipedia to sort you out! it's pretty easy to follow the storyline, and cap & iron man show up all the time to explain things anyway. and there are only like 12 issues in the main run so there's not that much to catch up on, honestly, just give it a shot!

the writing is really good on earths mightiest heroes as well, especially for tony and steve. they are the closest to movie canon imo, but also much funnier and drier. "did you just make a joke? captain america has a sense of humour" "don't get used to it, soldier" /smile smile /gay gay

tales of asgard. erfgvb loki with the being loki and thor with the rescuing him and sdcfdfgvf okay for an animated tie-in ( ... )

Eee! :D I'm so glad I know someone else who's watching! :DDD Artemis and Zatanna need to team up for adventures together always. They are definitely one of my more favorite ships.

Although really, my ridiculous multishipping currently looks something like this:

Favorite pairings (aka I JUST REALLY LIKE ARTEMIS AND KALDUR A LOT):
Artemis/Zatanna
Artemis/Robin
Artemis/Kaldur
Kaldur/Robin
Kaldur/Red Arrow
Superboy/Black Canary (...DON'T JUDGE ME)

Pairings that my fondness of fluctuates based on whether they're currently having an adorable moment together or not:
Artemis/M'gann
Artemis/Wally
Kaldur/Superboy
Robin/Zatanna
Robin/Superboy
Superboy/M'gann
Wally/Red Arrow

I am finding it entirely endearing! Also, inexplicably pretty (I don't even know what it is about it. I don't pay enought attention to cartoons to know if it's really much different from anything else out there, I just enjoy putting it in my eyes so much that my standards slowly crept up from 'I will only watch once I have successfully found a non-blurry decent video quality version' to 'I MUST HAVE HD 720p YES YESSSS'.)

I AM SURE WE WILL HAVE NO TROUBLE MAINTAINING EXCITEMENT LEVELS IF WE USE TEAMWORK. \O/

Yes! YES I REALLY DO. AVENGERS MOVIES YES.
