So my reaction to Supernatural this week ended up mostly just being "NO. NO. SAM. WHY. SAM. A PICNIC? SERIOUSLY? BUT WHY IS THE DOG CALLED RIOT??? OH MY GOD WHO IS WRITING THIS SOMEONE HIT THEM REPEATEDLY WITH A BOOK ON CHARACTERISATION

Huh. Does that Arrow show go into Oliver's, like, leftist politics or anything so far? I feel like that's one of the elements of that character that makes him interesting/different in comparison to, say, Batman, with them sharing various similarities in their stories otherwise.

Uh. TBQH, no. I mean, he is going after corrupt business people in order to protect the little guy, and Laurel occupies a parallel/alternative role to him where she tries to deal with similar corruption via the legal system, but at least so far it's not a show that feels political to me. Or, at least, not in a way that is more radical than, say, Leverage.

Which I am kind of okay with because I am shallow and archery is my kink. But. Yeah. It would be kind of awesome if they were pushing the political side of the character harder.
