Pathfinder

It's about a Viking boy left in North America after a Viking attack. He's raised by Native Americans and has to come to terms with his past (with bad ass looking battles) when the Vikings attack again. Looks neat. And it stars Eomer XD Looks like fun w/ swords and such, quite the idiom I enjoy ^_^

What? That preview looked kinda lame to me when I saw it (before Clerks II, if that gives you any idea what my movie tastes are). Actually, it looked like they showed the whole movie in the preview, just w/o some of the fighting scenes.

Did you like The 13th Warrior? Because I think Pathfinder is appealing to my sensibilities that liked that movie. And just because you like Clerks II, I don't think that might immediately preclude you liking different stuff. Unless your tastes are really that focused. I'd think the movie meme I posted not too long ago would show the variety in taste I have in movies, actually.

I do have pretty varied movie tastes. I liked parts of the 13th Warrior. I guess I'm just very picky about what sword slashing movies I'm into. Horror slasher movies I'm not picky about at all. Maybe it's because the sword slashers might actually have the potential to be good, whereas the horror slashers they're designed to be bad and cheesy, so I go in with low expectations. All I'm saying is the preview did not make me interested in seeing those people swing their axes and swords at each other, but maybe the preview's bad.

P.S.: I know this conversation warrants some joke about my preference of a man's "sword," but I'd rather not go there right now, as I am currently eating lunch. Lunch and swords don't mix, except John Belushi's samurai deli clerk on SNL.

Fair enough. See, I play D&D and have always loved fantasy and cool sword fights and such. So movies that have the hack and slash elements (even while not being fantasy), appeal to me easily ^_^ (The 13th Warrior, Gladiator, Troy, etc)
