Wild Mountain Thyme

When I was in 12th Night this past summer, the director, Ben (drydem), made cds for everybody of the music that he played during the intermission.  The first tune was one I recognized, though not in the version he played, which is by a band named Keltik Elektrik.  It turns out to be a very old Scottish song, and I am sure I have heard it sometime ( Read more... )

I know Robyn Hitchcock does a live acoustic cover of it.

I can't recall offhandedly what it's from, but I want to say it was from when he was on NPR's Mountain Stage?

i think i remember that from a recording by the Byrds ages ago, but i'll have to go check... yep. that's really nice.

i just downloaded and installed rhapsody so i could hear it. yes, that's the version i remember!
