Oh lovely. I'm so sorry :( I hope something can be worked out. I know it's a massive hope but maybe Cardiff will have some places on clearance? Usually they accept people with grades below the requirement if they can squeeze some more in.
You mustn't forget that to get two grade A's at a-level is an amazing, massive achievement. I'm so proud of you! And even if Cardiff isn't an option to study it's always here to visit. Don't let yourself get down! Love! <3
I did think about clearance, but there's nothing that I could really do, past the courses I'm equipped for; my main gambits were Philosophy and English (and Politics as a side-line); all so insanely competitive that I couldn't really squeeze myself in. Plus, ultimately, I didn't get the grades, which is down to me. It's irritating that my fallen grade was the one that I most definitely won't need for my course, but it's all they can to follow the rules.
I'm feeling a lot better about it, now; I have a place somewhere else, for the same course, and I know I'll love it in the end. And thank you! I was happy with the As, as was my Politics teacher.
I'm sorry I won't get to see you, though. Still, I'll definitely give Cardiff a visit a fair few times (I have friends who're going there); there'll always be a chance!
You can always just take a year off, do some travelling or get some experience under your belt that will add somewhat to any applications. And as you say, it is not the end of the world; I know you're upset, but you're keeping a good head above the water and staying realistic instead of descending into pessimism.
Seriously, though, hon - there are plenty of options available to you. If all else fails, Winchester does a combined course with a requirement of 300 points only. So there's always options :)
