WOOFOODS.

At what age can we stop giving Woo the ground-up foods? She DOES like them, and they ARE organic, but still, she would much rather have whatever we're having.

She has six or seven (I think she's hiding one from me) teeth, btw.

If you want to start slowly, use a feeder:

Throw a slice of apple in there and let her go to town with those teeth. A cold slice of apple helps with teething, incidentally.

Otherwise, just start with small things she can't choke on while she learns to chew. Cheerios are good, because of the hole - how you gonna choke on something with a hole? Pirate's Booty is also good - it practically dissolves in your mouth. Or just small bites of things. Just keep an eye on her - The Toddler once nearly choked on a small piece of zwieback. Pop Phoo poked it out of his throat just in time, thank goodness.

Ooh, I should have been clearer.

She eats that stuff and even more...it's amazing what this child will eat. Salmon. Spinach-and-garlic-and-chicken-pasta. Huevos rancheros. She'll chew it all, and if the piece is too big? She takes it out of her mouth and then puts it back in when she's ready.

I just don't know when I should give up on the squishy stuff, I guess for health's sake??

As long as she's getting a good variety from whatever she is eating, it doesn't matter. There is no rule about when to stop baby food.

Cool! She's right on target. I guess as long as she's getting the nutrition she needs, we can stop? For a bit longer with the smushy stuff, then, because that's how we get the veggies in. Tx!

yup. offer the veggies first, then the fun stuff. that worked well for us. and? just about anything can be tossed in a blender and blended part way.
