cheer up, emo elf (open)

There is a reason Celegorm should not be allowed in the library.

He was probably looking for something for Irisse - probably not even having been bidden to do so. He just likes the light she gets when she's surprised, and the way she smiles as though he's just delighted her more than she's ever been delighted. But it was the word 'Silmaril' that ( Read more... )

And here comes a wife, and she has to stoop, slow and clumsy, to his eye level.

"Love? Love, what happened?"

He debates a moment, over looking up to meet her eyes, and risking what she might see, over closing the book and risking she might see the title or leaving it open where it is, but he can't not look at her. And glances up, not quiet hesitantly.

"...love?" In a bit of a rough voice, though his eyes are darker than they've been in a while, not quite veiled, but something like it, heavy with ill-concealed self-loathing.

She reaches to touch his face, worry streaking across her features. "I am here, Eru, what happened? Love, stand, come with me, come home..."

Oh no, oh no no, can't have her worrying like that. He tries to shove it away, tries hard, but he's not really that good at it, and ends up looking down, at the page before him. "Thereafter never hound was whelped," says the right hand page in front of him, "that would follow horn of Celegorm and Curufin."

Shame hurts. He already read through Finrod's death. That was a hard part.

Here's someone Cleeg hasn't seen in a while. Niko's just wandering around, hands in his pockets, perhaps on his way to see his (hee!) girlfriend. And pauses.

"Celegorm?"

He hasn't seen that one in a while! And the Sindarin makes him jump. Not quite literally, but as much as he ever would, because Sindarin does not usually mean good things, at least in his head. And this whole book he's been flipping through uses Sindarin names. Who's to say reading it didn't - he doesn't know, summon someone even worse, Dior or Beren himself.

It takes him a moment too long to recognize it, jerking to his feet and dropping the book plainly visible to the floor. "What," abruptly, and he tries to calm himself, "--your pardon."

"No, no, it's fine." Niko picks up the book, looks at Celegorm, and sighs heavily.

"Oh christ. Don't tell me you've been reading this thing."

He looks a little guilty. Okay, a lot guilty, but only a little of it has to do with the question, though most of it does have to do with the book. He deliberately does not look at it and draws his shoulders up a little, saying nothing. For some reason he doesn't think Niko would believe him if he lied.

He just looks away instead, keeping his eyes down.

Heeey don't I know you, creepily tall dude? Loras meanders over in the library, having wandered in out of curiosity. He was going to fumble around a bit until he found something that reminded him of Renly and then brood for the rest of the afternoon until something distracted him (as is rapidly becoming his custom), but this is so much better!

"Ser?" I believe we met, because you're really tall, and I remember really tall people, of which you are. "Are you quite alright?"

Tyelko is surprised, deep as he is in thought/angst, and jerks a little on being talked to, head swivelling. And then blinks, staring at Loras with some sense of...incomprehension. "...excuse you?" Did I miss something or are you actually asking me how I am? I am a Kinslayer you do not ask these things.

Seems to have forgotten that not everyone here knows that little bit of history.

Jaime sympathizes deeply, wherever he is. As for Loras, what empathy? That's crazy. It is amusing seeing weepy tall dude jerk and twitch like that, though.

"Are you quite alright, ser?" He repeats, hiding his amusement.

...still kind of a stare, and a blink. "...fine," because that's what Feanorians say when they aren't fine at all. "My - apologies. I was distracted." A bit jerkily, stilted, not quite all there.

This is crazy too, actually! *shot*
