Yes, children are demons!

Try harder is the motto to that story? Um... yeah, sure. I guess.
No such thing as talent. Yeah, well I confess I've known a lot of talented people who lack motivation and are pretty hopeless at doing anything with that talent, so I'd say that is pretty right on. I always think talent is just the motivation to want to do something and then you have to have the actual motivation. I mean sometimes it's about having a certain physicality, but mostly it ain't.

If you work out the trick to getting motivated, let me know it. I tend to think motivation is largely beside the point, it turns everything into a race that has an on and off switch and I think life is far more interesting if you're just always on, but switch around to different things.

Fo' serious, man.

Yeah, it's not so much talent as starting early/practicing more, getting ahead, and so talents are more made than discovered. But still, it's a little bit of a downer because a little part of me is going "I thought I wuz special ;w;" XD

I just cried a little a while ago because I was actually willing to start crackalackin' in the books but the environment was so not right for it, what with the uncle blasting horror movies, children running around, and horribly lit areas. And it's ridiculous cause I so had the opportunity to do this earlier, it's just I was on my arse being a whiny lazy little shithead. It takes me about 2 hours to talk myself into doing something but by the time I act on it it's already too late. Gah!

Wait, you mean you have to be awesome AND do some work? I knew that there was a downside to this talent business!

Ah... you might have to have an actual holiday?! Or have you found earplugs?

I read that article and I can see what your problem with it is: it is so bloody depressing!!! It should have made you think "I can do that!" rather than the "So what if you are talented? You won't get anywhere" attitude it has.

Film makers love making children demonic, when they are obviously not. Loud, distracting, attention-seeking, little shits beings maybe, but not demons. :D

Right? I mean I understand letting an aptitude sit there will of course get you no where, but man. And something about "working hard" just makes me die a little inside. I'm not saying I've never worked hard in my life before, but I've never worked as hard as I could muster, and I dunno if I can get my will power to cooperate.

LOL! XD I wholeheartedly agree. I wish they had an off-switch. Stress levels would decrease by so much. *sigh*

Kids do have an offswitch. I know this sounds counterintuitive... but try this. Load the little buggers up on really sugary stuff, they'll run around nuts for an hour or so, but then crash. That's when you can do stuff.

Now you know why people don't let me look after their children.
