You know, this is such a lovely insight into the realistic version of their relationship, but the last part is awfully sad, knowing that it won't go any further between them. I could feel the loneliness and the fear they were both feeling, and I loved Sylvia's determination to protect Donna if she could, but the irony of that last line is terribly tragic.

It won't go any further yet I suppose, because something like their relationship can't be made perfect overnight (literally), and Sylvia would still need time to get used to actually being there for her daughter. Not to say that she'd only try every once in a blue moon, but ah, hopefully you see what I'm saying LOL

Nice fleshing out of the Donna-Sylvia relationship. So sad that Donna is so depressed that she is drinking a lot but then it makes sense too - she doesn't know why she feels like she does, she just wants to forget that she does.

BTW, would you recommend Beautiful Chaos or any of the other Doctor-Donna novels?

Oh yes, I recommend Beautiful Chaos the most. I also would recommend The Forever Trap, that one was easily my favorite. The Nemonite invasion was pretty good too (only cause of the cutest ending EVER). The rest is okay. Except for The Doctor Trap. Avoid that one. LOL.

Do you know how many there are altogether? I can only find four on Amazon, including the one you said wasn't so good...

I remember listening to 7... Not sure if there were more, because when I researched how many, it only gave me 4 as well.
