Have you ever read a summary of or rec for a fic and thought "Hmm, maybe!" then saw the link led to Fanfiction.net and decided "Uh, maybe not..."
Have you ever read one of those "looking for a story" posts and thought the description sounded like the baddest of bad fic ever, then realized, if the fic was about your character/pairing of choice, you'd

As for the other two, I found the new BG relentlessly depressing. Good, yes, but I couldn't keep watching it after I figured out there was a reason why I kept wandering out the room on any pretense. ;-)
The Sheild, depressing too but I found it much more interesting. The character dynamics are fascinating to watch, slashy and messy and all together train wreck-esque.

I have to admit the pics I've seen of him have done nothing for me, and I suspect he may be younger than my tastes usually run... But! Gotta see a person living and breathing, as it were, onscreen to get the full effect before deciding.
the first series finale trilogy has one of the most beautiful male/male love stories/kissing I have ever seen
That would be a decided plus. :-)
However, if you're watching it primarilly for the pretty, pretty lead sparking off everyone
Well, everyone male. ; ) Not interested in m/f-ness. Can find that anywhere and everywhere on TV.
I've heard mixed reviews of the show, and I think some of the folk who rave are swayed by the m/m-ness and overlooking some of the not good. Admittedly, I'm willing to be swayed, too, as the m/m-ness is an elusive entity.
As for the other two, I found the new BG relentlessly depressing.Yep, that's been my impression. I've always been ambivalent about this show, in spite of my EJO and JB love, because it sounds so relentlessly ( ... )

Yep :)
Have you ever read one of those "looking for a story" posts and thought the description sounded like the baddest of bad fic ever, then realized, if the fic was about your character/pairing of choice, you'd be all over that sucker?
Absolutely.
Have you ever reached a point in one of your fandoms where, while you sitll love your character of choice as much as you ever did, your dislike of another character, a most popular character, has reached the point where it eclipses all else in that fandom and you never want to read his name again?
Unfortunately, yes :)

Yep, me too, and unfortunately, it's the one fandom I can't gaffiate from no muss, no fuss. Don't really know what to do about it, but I seriously don't want to read fic there anymore because he's always there. Oy.

Battlestar Galactica
Everyone goes on and on about what a great show this is. I've never watched it and can't work up much enthusiasm to do so.
The Shield
I watched the first three (or was it four?) seasons of this show. It starts out rather promising and then it begins to irritate when it makes Vic Mackey the hero of everything. Excuse me, but wasn't this the same guy who murdered a fellow police officer in the pilot episode?
Yeah, that's what I thought. Also, they ruined my favorite character, so I stopped watching.
TorchwoodI love this show. I'm not sure you will love it quite as much as I do. The first season is really uneven and all over the place with plot holes making frequent guest appearances. The second season is miles better, although plot holes do continue to visit every once in a while ( ... )

Yes, I'm really ambivalent about it, for various reasons, in spite of my EJO and JB love.

Oy. Sounds like what the Kellerites did in the world of Oz fic: Totally AUed the sociopath out of existance or, in the canon realm, made him some kind of misunderstood martyr. Totally turned me off to the fandom. That doesn't sound promising for The Shield, but I think I'll give the first season a looksee, at least.
Plus, James Marsters!
Would you defriend me if I admitted I find this guy really unattractive? ::ducking:: It's that awful Buffy era hair!
So, just so you're not confused the hand in the jar belongs to the Doctor. :-)
LOL! Oh, my. Do I want to know why the Doctor's hand is in a jar?
(Sorry for blathering so about Torchwood. I love it, flaws and ( ... )

EJO is apparently Edward James Olmos. I had to look that up and it really hurt my brain. When I saw "JB", my first thought was: "John Barrowman is in BG! Now, I am enthused enough to watch this show!"
But when I looked it up it was some dude named Jamie Bamber that I've never heard of. Should I know this individual? And just glancing at imdb I see that he's been in a bunch of stuff that I've never seen.

Well, um... enjoy! ;-P
Would you defriend me if I admitted I find this guy really unattractive? ::ducking:: It's that awful Buffy era hair!Ha! This amuses me greatly, actually. I am not, nor have I ever been a James Marsters fangirl. But I'm not a Spuffy hater either. I really dislike some of the factions that develop in various fandoms ( ... )

Indeed!

Well, I dunno. I've only seen him in a few things myself, but I loved him as Archie in the Horatio Hornblower movies. Then, he got naked in a Scarlet Pimpernel movie and the deal was sealed. I understand he gets pretty darn close to naked in BG, too... Yes, I really, really am shallow. It's all about the naked! ; )
Sorry I strained your brain! I was being lazy. You understand.
The only thing missing was the bottled blonde hair, which is a vast improvement.
It certainly couldn't be worse than that Buffy hair. Yikes, that was hideous!
There's a particular episode of Torchwood that contains a scene of Jack allowing an evil alien to get away so he can protect the precious hand. It's pretty funny even when you know the history. It's probably downright bizarre if you have no idea why Jack is cuddling the hand.Hee! Well, I'll look forward to it. ::g:: Is Jack in ( ... )
