Snow/School closing and FFXII geekery

So they were doing a lot of 'Oh Noes~ Sleet and Ice and Snow OH MY!' on the news last night, so I tried to keep watch for Joe to see if his school would be canceled for today. Of course, it wasn't. But amazingly both Memphis City Schools and Shelby County Schools were canceled which almost NEVER happens, but both the U of M and Christian Bros. ( Read more... )

Aww, I wish I was still in Memphis for that D: Of course, if I were I would have had to go out for work in it, so maybe it's better I'm not... xD;

I started a second playthrough of FFXII a few months back (didn't finish it though), and I actually managed to beat that first demon wall this time around. I think I was a bit overleveled though (maybe around 17/18?), and I made sure they all had the strongest weapons/armor (I don't do classes) and then I spammed about four quickenings. It actually went down pretty fast, I was really surprised.

and then afterwards I spent forever trying to get that chest to give me the weapon instead of useless gil or nothing, but eventually it did >D

OH AND LUCK!!! lol I need to do the same thing whenever I get back to mine.

Wait, U of M and CBU were open? Jeez. UTM stayed open because our dumb-as-a-bag-of-hammers chancellor felt the university was "functional." Even though half the campus had no plumbing most of the day thanks to a frozen main, half the faculty didn't show, and people were falling on their asses left and right (I slipped on my feet five times).

When a university is more concerned about their cancellation records rather than student safety, that's pretty pathetic.
